Here is the final version of my peacock costume. It was so fun to dress up and be a Radiant Peacock.
I even gave you a quick recap of a Radiant Peacock's beauty and makeup that was so fun to create! Faux lashes, blue wig, with a lil sparkle and glitter!

Hope you all have a safe and fun Halloween!!

Friday's Fancies {Halloween Costume}

1234567

We're celebrating our Halloween costume on Friday's Fancies today and I am showcasing the Radiant Peacock Costume! I handmade a peacock costume last year and plan on wearing it again this year since I live in a different area code now. I'm sprucing it up more and wearing a dress instead of a tutu that I wore last year. I'm all into wearing wigs for Halloween so I will be sporting my blue, bob cut wig again.

Can't wait to see how everyone else is dressing up!

Cuff me

I would be ever so delighted to be cuffed in these beautifully styled cuffs by Kelly Wearstler!

What are you wearing for Autumn?

So the orange theme continues! I love all shades of orange: burnt orange, rust orange, camel and amber.
I think of pumpkin pie, cider and of course candy corn during these autumn months. It's funny how fashion sparks an image of food in my head. I should have just dedicated this post to "fashion foodies!"
When accessorizing with orange, chocolate brown and black compliment this hue very well.
Try adding amber and camel to the mix and you will be amazed at how orange becomes such a staple color in your fall wardrobe!!

Monday Inspiration

It's the week before Halloween and I'm having so much fun looking at all of these pretty pumpkins around the web. I'm picking up a batch of my own this week to decorate, and I have ideas reeling in my head of how to style my little pumpykins.

Have you picked yours up yet? Are you carving or painting?

Friday's Fancies {Breast Cancer Awareness}

1234567

Happy Friday!! Today is a special Friday's Fancies! The gals and I have teamed up to dedicate this post to Breast Cancer Awareness Month! So many strong and courageous women have battled and conquered this traumatic disease. My heart goes out to all of the women who have struggled, or knew of someone dear to their heart who has had to deal with such a painful condition.

Here's to continuing more education, awareness and empowerment for women all around the globe!

October Rooms

After searching for October inspired rooms, I've become very intrigued with the black and orange hues. I wouldn't necessarily say they would be categorized as "Halloween" rooms because they definitely have a charm that could last throughout the autumn months. The contrast of rich orange against black definitely makes a theatrical impact in a room.

My favorite room of all is this glitzy, dramatic living room with an extravagant chandelier, fun pillows, leopard accessories and an orange ceramic side table.

Would you decorate a room in your house with these festive October colors?

Pumpkin Recipes

It's that time of year to carve pumpkins! Might as well use the insides to create delicious baked stuffed pumpkins, pumpkin spice latte's, pumpkin creme brulee' and mini pumpkin cakes!

Friday's Fancies {FALLin}

It's Friday's Fanices time!! Today we're dreaming up our fall color palette, taken
from nature, and turning it into a fitting outfit.

I think of coats, ponchos and blazers throughout the season and love to incorporate colors into my accessories while keeping the outfit neutral. I'm a sucker for greens, oranges and dark yellows during fall. Maybe it's the changing of leaves that gets me reeling in these crisp, autumn hues. What is your color palette during these glorious, cooler days?

Last weeks inspiration for Friday's Fancies...came true!!

Sure hoping this weekend treats you all well!!

Shades of Fig

I love the delicacy and rich look of figs. The brilliance of their colors inspire decor, fashion and many others.
The contrast between dark green, burgundy and rose conveys a sense of depth and luxuriousness.
It's the unexpected rose color that pops and completes the look overall.

Sooo...Can you Fig it?

Invitation Genius: Ceci Johnson

I had the pleasure of walking through Ceci Johnson's store in NY a couple weeks ago. If you're not familiar with Ceci, I must say she is the genius of luxurious invitation designs. The way she executes her process and layouts is ultimately inspiring.

The team of Ceci New York was kind enough to let me walk through the store and admire all of the breathtaking designs, paper goods and array of invitations for award-winning weddings, special events and charities. She is said to be the "got-to force among a global high-profile social and corporate clientele, including royalty, A-list celebrities and leading luxury brands." I am not the least bit surprised. The first time I laid eyes on the brilliance of Ceci's work, I was inspired to make my own dreams come true of becoming an entrepreneur of customized invitations and paper goods.

The window display set up in the store is incredibly constructed out of Ceci's own designs and invitations that are spilling out of a mailbox. A very whimsical and beautiful display.

Then of course there are the magical invitations, which I will let speak for themselves.

Many thanks to the welcoming ladies who are involved and work behind the scenes of Ceci New York's business and for taking the time to let me peruse my way through an excellent display of designs in your store. (and answering all of my curious questions ;)

Rue Anniversary Interiors

Last weeks Anniversary Issue of Rue was outstanding. The interior spaces in this issue are quite charming. I'm sure you will agree.

Crystal's San Francisco apartment was captured in the issue, and it was overall stunning and romantic with a beautiful dramatic flair. I adore the large mirrored collage in the dining room, lit by a uniquely designed wooden chandelier. Using gray in most of the rooms was such a bold move which enriches the overall feel and invitation of appearance in this incredibly styled home for the editor in chief herself.

Designers of id 810 Design Group, Virginia Toledo and Jessica Gellar, completely took over the task of designing a bachelor pad, with a grandiose ability, I might add. The green accent wall was a fascinating choice, with candles burning so richly against it. The furniture, the lighting, the accents...all made for a smashing young fellow.

Interior designer, Leah Ball Steen, brings a mix of patterns and colors into her historic home. I love how the kitchen and living room are adjacent to each other with no barrier between the two. The transition is indeed complimentary. Take a look at the wallpaper on the back wall of the kitchen. What a fun addition! Interesting fact: the kitchen island was a candy-making table from Michigan in the 1960's. I love the vintage appeal in this cozy, unforgettable home.

Did you find any other spreads of the magazine to be equally appealing?

Friday's Fancies {Blazin' Beauty}

  1234567

Friday's Fancies is showcasing the amazing blazer today!! I absolutely love blazers and think when worn with a skirt or dress, it makes for a perfect combination of girly-chic!!

I'm heading to Columbia, SC today to enjoy some time with one of my best friends! We're tailgating and  watching the Gamecocks play tomorrow so I thought this outfit would be perfect for the weather. It's supposed to be a bit cooler in the morning so my garnet blazer will keep the chill out.
And when it starts to heat up with all of the adrenaline running through the crowd, I'll have my sleeveless dress to keep me comfortable.

Hope you all have a wonderful October weekend!

Go Gamecocks!!

Oh my...

Blush tones in footwear have become very popular this year.
They're shiny, leathery and oh so sophisticated.
Its' neutral color can be paired with an abundant of outfits, and my do they make your feet blush!

Brunching with Blair

While in NYC last week, I had the pleasure of eating at this quaint little
Mediterranean bistro in Brooklyn, Lokal.
My bestie, Blair, and I had to eat there twice last week it was so good! One night we had burgers and then one afternoon we had brunch outside, viewing little pups walking by, locals strolling along on their bikes and even a joyous old lady who walked up and asked if we were having a good day.

For brunch, we ordered eggs benedict with a petite salad and roasted potatoes.
We had to try the iced coffee that was recommended by Blair herself, and it was just the kick of yummy caffeine I needed for the day!

Of course, meals are not complete between my bestie and I unless there's dessert at the end.
We demolished that warm bread pudding cake with a vanilla and strawberry drizzling over top and underneath. (and the little scoop of ice cream, too) It was extreeeemely delicious!
I felt exceptional after that!

There's nothing like brunch outside, people watching and silly talk with the company of your dearest friend.

Have a Seat

I received an email from Anthropologie a couple weeks ago that had these amazing, artful chairs enclosed. I love the unexpected elements that are incorporated to make the redesign of the chair.

The hanger at the top of the first chair is just clever! I can see this chair being transformed into a jewelry stand with necklaces hung from the hooks and scarves wrapped over the backing.

The tree limb shaping the leg and armrest of the third chair is quite rustic and beautiful.

Neon pink incorporated in the fifth chair leg is so unexpected and eye catchy!

Which is your favorite?
